Day 37 (Magnetic Island - a very attractive place!)

Not a lot to say again (phew, you say) - spent the day grabbing breakfast (Nareesa had some world new age thing with açai, which looked, well...purple, but actually tasted good! - I had bacon and eggs - good old English standard!) - then boarding the boat for the 25 minute crossing to Magnetic Island. We felt we were drawn there! (OK, enough!)

Have to admit more there than I expected - roads, buses, cars and everything - including signs to tell us how far we are from home! After the morning the weather didn't really play ball, so our lounge on the beach, reading a book, looking for crocs (this picture is for you Elisa - I think they are recruiting! x) was actually cut short - but compensated by good coffee (of course!) in the local cafe.

Took the ferry back to the mainland late afternoon and lounged a bit more on The Strand, sampling the local ice-cream, and fighting off the seagulls,

until it was a decent enough time to head to the pub! Fabulous trees along The Strand - can anyone tell me if these are tamarind trees? (I suppose I could look it up)

Had another excelent meal in an Italian restaurant - and more importantly I won at cards, back at the pub. I have been having good run - now only 12-14 down. Cleary wine helps. (Just don't ask about the Scrabble!)

Heading a bit further south tomorrow and expecting to be in Yeppoon by the weekend! Where's Yeppoon, I hear you ask (well obviously not Cameron & Juanita!) - I'll let you know when we find it!
