Day 41 & 42 (Yeppoon, chez Juanita & Cameron)

A longish drive from Airlie Beach to Yeppoon (find Rockhampton on the Queensland map and go out to the coast), down what we later heard described as the most boring road in the state. So we picked the right day to spend it all in the car!

But the reward was great. I will spare Juanita, Cameron & Remi's blushes a little, but they have made us feel so welcome we might not leave!

Spent the first night eating and drinking by the fire overlooking the ocean and Great Keppel Island. At 1am I finally collapsed so that I could keep the whole house awake with drink induced snoring. I really must avoid the coffee liqueur tonight we brought from Jaques Coffee, what seems like months ago!

Bit of hangover this morning! So the prefect remedy is 70km/h on a jet ski! Remi took Nareesa and I out around the bay and then very generously allowed me to have a play on my own. Sadly my donut remains unrecorded, but Nareesa's exit from the back of the ski is now legendary around these parts and will appear on a Facebook video very soon!

Beautiful lunch at a Japanese restaurant in Yeppoon followed by a lazy afternoon overlooking the sea. Hard to believe but this trip just gets better and better. And tomorrow our lovely hosts have chartered a sailing yacht to take us to snorkel and paddle board out at Great Keppel Island - and see the humpback whales migrating north! Just time to write this blog (with a beer obviously!)
