Day 47 (Byron Bay)

The magical Byron Bay!

A lazy day! A walk into the town centre (about 10 minutes), a walk round the surfer shops and a few hippy ones (about 10 minutes), and another coffee (bit longer than 10 minutes).

Nareesa and I have decided we have started a new diet; its called the 7 meals a day diet. And it involves a lot of coffee and cake. Most days seem to consist of breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon snack (for which read: cake), tea and then finally dinner. I haven't looked in a mirror for a while and maybe best not to!

Anyway, sometime between elevenses and lunch we spent a few hours on the idyllic beach of Byron Bay. Although be honest virtually every beach we have been on has been idyllic - what makes this one so different?

Lunch, followed by a laze by the pool, and then afternoon cake, before we wandered along to a beach side bar for sundowners. Coming home is going to be hard! We are adopting the slow approach though by coming south gently, to where it is noticeably colder, especially in the evenings. We had our down jackets with us on the walk to the restaurant, tonight - funny 12ºC seems cold now!

PS There were too many pictures to fit on the Great Keppel Island blog so there is a new gallery page at https://www.baldjournal.com/blank-page-9
