Just Another Winter's Tale. Part 9: Back in North Vancouver & an encounter with a dragon

Nothing more to report??!!!! What am I talking about?

I completely forgot the awesome performance of Queen's "We Will Rock You," after which we met the star guitarist (because he used to be nephew/cousin Charlie's guitar teacher). I wasn't quite so gooey eyed but Charlie was star struck! So, in an ever lengthening list of great events this Christmas, another family occasion to savour and remember - the whole gang of us sharing a theatre event and preceded by some great sushi too! This is just me and Tom (seem to have forgotten to take any pictures that night!) enjoying a pre-concert glass of wine. Rock and Roll!!!

And so to Aldergrove via Abbotsford... By the way has anyone noticed the 3 letter code for all Canadian airports starts with a Y? YVR is Vancouver, YYC is Calgary, YQR is Regina, and YXX is Abbotsford. I'm looking for the Canadian town of Delilah, which presumably will have an airport YYY.

...oh yes, Aldergrove via YXX. A short up and down flight from Calgary, over the magnificent Rockies at sunset, and we are ready for our 3rd "Christmas dinner" with Cari, her husband Michael, and sister Michelle (previously met the first time round in North Van). A Canadian/German meal this time, after which a frantic round the houses discussion of European/German/UK/US politics. And we are still friends! Thank you Cari for entertaining us yet again and introducing us to food (yet again) we have never heard of and can't spell. It was delicious though!

And so today brought the obligatory exhilarating walk in the wet Vancouver forests, around Mount Seymour (actually just low cloud to be fair), the obligatory coffee stops and preparation for yet another wine sodden meal this evening. With New Year's Eve to come with friends in Steveston (near the US border or perhaps one could call it south Vancouver), the pickling process is almost done!

Look up!

Look out!

Look close.
