Today starts with last night. Two reasons: first, last night’s dinner was absolutely fabulous in a wonderful restaurant; and second, sod all has happened today!


Thank you Peter and Alison for the recommendation for the O Mylos restaurant in Kommeno. I assume O Mylos means The Windmill, but as usual I am too lazy to look it up.

What a view! And what great food, at stupidly reasonable prices. A fabulous night was had by all - ie us two. Starters (baked asparagus & homemade mushroom tart), mains (dragon sea bass and lamb roll in vine leaves) and we even polished off yet another excellent Greek wine (robola grape) made on this very island, and still got change from about €80. And then, to finish the evening off in style, having arrived in a sleek black Mercedes taxi, we walked back to the hotel along pitch black lanes, guided by the stars. What a great night! (This is me in my posh going out t-shirt!)

And as indicated earlier, we have spent the whole day on the beach. An unusual event for us! As you can imagine the thunder storms (stormlets, really) have gone and it is another hot blue sky day.

You thought I had forgotten … of course I haven’t the GREEK SALAD was fabulous. For the first time we shared one (because we had eaten on the beach before) which allowed us to widen our horizons - with chips mostly! Believe it or not we ate most of this. But I can report that the beach cafe, remains close to the top of the leader board, with a fine dressing, plenty of olives and a mixture of peppers (seen nowhere else).

And you thought I couldn’t be any more boring! A few more pictures of last nights food and a very lazy day today.
