What to do when you complete your house renovations?

Well, leave of course! Hand the keys over to complete strangers (well not any more!) and invite them to enjoy the benefits of brand new bathrooms, a new roof and the lengthening days of early spring! As it happens we have taken over 2 years to arrange this due to covid so Colleen and Craig are anything but strangers to us now.

We of course will be taking advantage of their lovely house just north of Auckland, a stone's throw from Mairangi Bay Beach.

Yep, we are on our way to New Zealand - for two months. Our much postponed house exchange with Colleen and Craig, has finally come to pass! And even better we had the pleasure of their company in Hove for a couple of days before we set off. I think we managed to show them just about every pub within a 10 minute walk of the house. Nothing else useful of course!

As I am sure you will be reading this nonsense Colleen and Craig, we hope you have wonderful time in Hove and Brighton. We have every intention of doing the same in your lovely home!

Without wishing to start on a downer, just a short mention of the utterly useless Lufthansa, which (who?) amended our London to Zurich flights leaving us a mere 45 minutes to catch our transfer to Singapore. As I am now writing this in Zurich airport I know that if all goes to plan it takes half an hour to get from landing to new gate - leaving 15 minutes - if all goes to plan! Lufthansa, you are having laugh. Luckily, Swiss, with which we are actually flying came to the rescue and allowed me alter the ticket back to its original, allowing us over 2 hours transfer time. This being the amendment that Lufthansa said was impossible! Bonkers.

Anyway we made it here in plenty of time and as I write, we are just about to board our 13 hour overnight flight to Singapore.

I will pick up this story when we get there! So for anyone who wants to ignore my ramblings, it is time to switch off, abandon ship, or whatever. For anyone who wants to hear this crap - watch this space...
